Newton Cemetery
Founded in 1855, Newton Cemetery is a historic garden cemetery and accredited arboretum. Part of the garden cemetery movement, which strove to create park like cemeteries where the public could escape the city and enjoy nature, it utilizes the natural landscape to create a tranquil resting place.
Preservation
With so much history behinds its gates, including the Civil War Soldiers' Monument and all of the original cemetery records dating back to its creation, there is much to be preserved at Newton Cemetery.
